The Theatre

Rangmandap is a not-for-profit initiative dedicated to the development and promotion of theatre and the performing arts. Conceived as an intimate space, Rangmandap is a platform for creators to experiment with their art and for audiences to engage with performances that connect. Set to feature two thoughtfully designed performance spaces — a classic proscenium stage and a flexible black box theatre — Rangmandap offers both structure and freedom. rangBhas, our 200-seat proscenium theatre, offers an intimate experience, bringing audiences close to the stage while preserving the structure of traditional theatre. With well-designed acoustics, and finely tuned sound & lighting, it adds both clarity and charm to every performance.

The Box

The Black Box is a 125-seat modular space designed for experimental, immersive, or minimalist performances. Intimate and flexible, it invites reconfiguration — of staging, narrative, and audience relationship — allowing each production to shape its own spatial and emotional dynamics. Together, Bhasrang and the Black Box support a wide range of performance styles — from scripted drama and devised works to movement pieces, readings, and cross-disciplinary explorations.

Parking

Limited parking for cars and two-wheelers is available on the premises. Street parking is permitted where available, but we recommend arriving early to secure a spot.

Etiquettes

Live performances are a shared experience — a collective joy. That joy is ours only when each of us takes responsibility for upholding it. A few simple etiquettes can make all the difference.

No late entry

Please arrive early for the shows. Theatre doors open 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. For performances with free seating, we recommend coming even earlier to avoid queues and choose your preferred seats — as many of our regular patrons do. Late entry disrupts both the performers and fellow audience members, and will not be permitted once the show begins.

No re-entry if you step out

If in case you need to leave mid performance, you may not be allowed to re-enter during the performance.

Phones switched off (not even silent mode)

We kindly request all patrons to switch off their mobile phones completely before entering the theatre. Even screen light, notifications, or vibrations can distract both performers and fellow audience members. Your attention helps preserve the shared joy of a live performance.
