Rangmandap is a not-for-profit initiative dedicated to the development and promotion of theatre and the performing arts. Conceived as an intimate space, Rangmandap is a platform for creators to experiment with their art, and for audiences to engage with performances that connect. Set to feature two thoughtfully designed performance spaces — a classic proscenium stage and a flexible black box theatre — Rangmandap offers both structure and freedom.

The Proscenium Theatre

200 Seats Proscenium

Our 200-seat proscenium theatre, offers an intimate experience, bringing audiences close to the stage while preserving the structure of traditional theatre. With well-designed acoustics, and finely tuned sound & lighting, it adds both clarity and charm to every performance.

Black Box Theatre

The Black Box

125 Seats Black Box

The Black Box is an 80 to 125 seat modular space designed for experimental, immersive, or minimalist performances. Intimate and flexible, it invites reconfiguration — of staging, narrative, and audience relationship — allowing each production to shape its own spatial and emotional dynamics.

Together, the Auditorium and the Black Box support a wide range of performance styles — from scripted drama and devised works to movement pieces, readings, and cross-disciplinary explorations.

Bookshop
Library & Books

The Bookshop

Our bookshop offers a carefully curated selection of books for both children and adults — spanning literature, theatre, and the arts. It also features a rich library and a quiet reading area, inviting visitors to browse, linger, and engage beyond the performance.

Art Gallery

Two long passages outside the theatre provide decent space developed as art galleries. We wish to make sure that all those visiting Rangmandap cannot miss the art. Such an experience of engaging with art will surely be enriching for all.

Café
Food & Drinks

The Café

A small on-site café serves fresh tea, coffee, and light snacks — all made from organic ingredients. Minimalist in design but uncompromising in taste and quality, it offers a space to reflect, converse, or pause between performances. This space offers an opportunity to interact with artists of all shades like performers, authors, painters.

Guest House

6–8 Performers

Rangkuti is a cosy home for 6–8 artists, providing space to stay, rest, and recharge. When not performing, artists often find moments to interact with audiences, deepening the connection between stage and community.

Parking

Limited parking for cars and two-wheelers is available on the premises. Street parking is permitted where available, for which we recommend arriving early to secure a spot. The property is surrounded by road on its three sides allowing visitors to park their vehicles along the wall. The convenience of neighbouring residents shall be our priority.

House Rules

Etiquettes

Live performances are a shared experience — a collective joy. That joy is ours only when each of us takes responsibility for upholding it. A few simple etiquettes can make all the difference.

No late entry

Please arrive early for the shows. Theatre doors open 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late entry disrupts both the performers and fellow audience members.

No re-entry if you step out

If you need to leave mid performance, you may not be allowed to re-enter during the performance.

Phones switched off (not even silent mode)

We kindly request all patrons to switch off their mobile phones completely before entering the theatre. Your attention helps preserve the shared joy of a live performance.
